Kids & Outreach Director

Harmony Church of God has a faithful legacy in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania (population 2,600), a borough in York County, and on the border of York Springs (population 700). Harmony Church is a place where community members can develop their faith in Christ, find opportunities to serve, and connect with others. As a church, they are active in the community by reaching out to people in need and partnering with a variety of local organizations.

Examples are, such as New Hope Ministries, CARES Homeless Shelter, Starfish Ministries, the Central PA Blood Bank and Capital Area Pregnancy Center. Harmony also works closely with several other local churches in the Dillsburg area to benefit families and the community. Harmony church hosts about six neighborhood outreach events a year for the purpose of bringing neighbors together for fun, food and fellowship.

The church is led by Pastor Jack who has provided pastoral leadership for almost 20 years bi-vocationally. Each Sunday, a faithful group of about 20-40 gather for Worship and Prayer or to 2020, attendance was nearing 100. They are rebuilding and hopeful for a bright future.

The church desires to reach families within the two neighboring school districts: the Bermudian Springs School district and the Northern York County School District. Their property is equipped with a playstructure and outdoor pavilion and their church space has a kids ministry wing ready for age specific ministry environments for kids. Harmony seeks a visionary and resilient leader to launch a dynamic kids and outreach ministry, engaging unchurched families and equipping the next generation to follow Jesus.

The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new full‑time Kids & Outreach Director. The right candidate for this role will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:

• Provide vision, leadership and oversight for the Kids ministry.
• Create methods to reach unchurched kids, primarily ages 4 through 6th grade, and their families.
• Develop a vision for parents to understand the value of kids following Jesus in their lives.
• Build a ministry to nurture discipleship and spiritual growth in volunteers and kids.
• Maintain a safe environment for all kids.
• Maintain and update background checks for all volunteers.
• Maintain regular communication with parents about regular lessons and the spiritual growth of the kids.
• Assist in selecting and reviewing curriculum.
• Prepare a budget to submit to the Leadership Team.
• Serve as a member of the Church Leadership Team.
• Foster relationships within the community.

• A degree in kids/children’s ministry or elementary education is helpful, but not required.
• Paid/volunteer Ministry experience required.
• Paid/volunteer experience with children or early childhood, two years or more preferred.
• Experience in a rural setting is preferred, but not required.
• Compatible beliefs with the Apostle’s Creed/Nicene Creed and Churches of God, General Conference (cggc.org).
