Asian American Community Fund of PA Program Manager About The Organization
The Asian American Community Fund of PA (AACFPA) is the first-ever statewide nonpartisan civic engagement organization directly advocating for the needs of Asian Pacific Islanders in PA. Built by Asian American community leaders across the state with a collective 50 years of experience advocating for our people, we build long‑term political power and win justice for our communities.
This position is shared with our sibling entity, the Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance (API PA), a separate 501(c)4, to whom the employee may also report and provide services consistent with the below duties on occasion.
Position OverviewThe Program Manager reports directly to the Executive Director of the Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance in providing organizing, coordination, and administrative support to help implement the goals and programs of the statewide Power Caucus. The Program Manager will also implement the Community Fund’s Unity Grants and Fellowship Program and the annual SEED Fellowship. This includes working with AACFPA and API PA staff, members, community leaders, elected officials, and partner organizations in support of racial and economic justice in Asian American communities across the Commonwealth.

Caucus Organizing & Development (40%)- Conducting periodic 1-on-1s with current members of the Power Caucus to ensure understanding and alignment within the broader Caucus
- Onboarding new Caucus members
- Maintain tracking sheet of Power Caucus leaders’ engagement, skills, and growth edges; strategize on making asks to increase Power Caucus leaders’ solidarity, confidence, and skills
- Support Coordinating Committee with implementation of political education and other skills building trainings and series
- Participate in, and coordinate as appropriate, Power Caucus subcommittees
- Support Director and Coordinating Committee with facilitation of all‑Caucus spaces as needed
- In concert with Caucus leaders, planning and implementing joint canvass days, phone banks, textbanks, civic engagement outreach events as part of shared field planning: including consulting Caucus leaders; promoting, recruiting for events, and creating resources for Caucus leaders to recruit their leaders; launching and training at the events; and clean up and debriefing
- Coaching Caucus organizations on recruiting and managing their volunteers
- Execute and plan the annual Power Caucus retreat with support from the Coordinating Committee; plan logistical preparations including lodging, meals, materials, and other needs
- In collaboration with Data staff, support training, maintenance, and effective use of VAN and other political technology by Power Caucus members
- Supporting Caucus leaders to learn to plan and implement field outreach, and integrate lessons for more effective outreach from one event to the next
- Coordinate the Strategy, Empowerment, Education, Development (SEED) Fellowship - a paid fellowship program designed for Asian American community members and leaders located in Southeast and Central Pennsylvania alongside the Organizing Director
- Coordination tasks include: managing training and political education sessions; and evaluating candidate performance
- Coordinate the Community Fund's Arts & Culture Grants (Unity Grants) program
- Collaborate with other Community Fund and API PA staff to ensure implementation of voter registration and civic engagement programming through Grants Program
- Prospect new potential grantees as well as long‑term program staffing needs
