THE POSITION
The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is seeking hardworking and caring people who are dedicated to taking care of our residents. The Gino Merli Veterans' Center offers veterans and their spouses superior care.
DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our long-term care facility, you will plan, implement, and evaluate all assigned resident care in collaboration with a Registered Nurse, ensuring adherence to HIPAA standards. You will improve residents' quality of life by providing the best care possible.
WORK HOURS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION- Full‑time employment (8 hours/day; 40 hours/week)
- Shifts:
- 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with 30‑minute lunch
- 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) with 30‑minute lunch
- 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with 30‑minute lunch
- Rotating days and weekends; every other weekend required
- Rotating holidays
- Telework: not available
- Starting annual salary $67,558.00 (before taxes) for new PA employees
- DMVA Nursing Referral Program: eligible for payments up to $4,000

- Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania
- Temporary practice permit must be converted to full licensure within 1 year
- PA residency requirement waived
- For those within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program, possession of a current valid PA temporary practice permit or license is required at appointment
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
- Follows Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports (PA State Police, FBI)
- May require medical examination and drug screening
