Licensed Practical Nurse – Clarks Summit State Hospital
Department:
Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. The Nursing Department seeks Licensed Practical Nurses to provide optimal nursing care for patients at Clarks Summit State Hospital.
- Provide nursing care on assigned shift in multiple living areas.
- Follow established standards of nursing practice, policies, and procedures.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours:
2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM). - Rotating weekends, days off, and holiday schedule.
- Schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.
- Overtime and travel as needed.
- Free parking.
- No telework option.
- Salary: starting annual salary of $67,558.00 for new hires in Pennsylvania before taxes.
- Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- Temporary practice permit holders must obtain licensure within one (1) year as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
- PA residency requirement waived for this title.
- Graduated from a nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing; must possess current, valid PA licenses or temporary permits upon appointment.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Must comply with the Older Adult Protective Services Act, including satisfactory criminal history reports and medical examination as required.
- Pennsylvania law provides employment preference for qualified veterans for many state and local government jobs.
