LPN - Graduate Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse ( Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre

Job Summary

Geisinger offers a full‑time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley campus. The role includes a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates and up to $40,000 in financial support to become an RN. Compensation may include up to $5 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

• Contribute data to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Promote adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize satisfaction.
• Provide compassionate care during patient–nurse interactions.
• Coordinate patient care and staff interactions.
• Meet qualifications to provide care for patients in assigned unit.
• Contribute data to assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
• Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Reinforce patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies per policy and procedure.
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and plan of care based on patient response.
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members to resolve needs.
• Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding utilization of evidence‑based practice.
• Provide input to manager for performance appraisals of care delivery team members.
• Precept and mentor new staff and students in a professional, positive manner.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (required).
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
