Job Details
Operating Room Nurse at Einstein Main - Level One Trauma Hospital. Prior OR experience preferred. Completion of Periop 101 preferred. Full-time day shift, 40 hours per week.
With a commitment to patient- and family-centered care, the professional nurse uses the nursing process in ways that value the uniqueness of each individual and address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of the diverse patients served by Jefferson Health. The nurse develops nursing plans of care with the patient and their designated care partner(s) to effectively address individualized needs and priorities and to be consistent with cultural beliefs and values.
Responsibilities- Patient-and Family-Centered Practice: convey respect and collaborate with patients, families, and designated care partners in care and care planning.
- Cultural Awareness: convey respect and connect effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective Communication: understand and apply communication concepts, tools, and techniques; effectively transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs.
- Patient Assessment and Care: assess ailments and injuries and implement a treatment plan.
- Patient and Designated Care Partner
Education:
elicit learning priorities and needs; educate patients and their care partners on condition, treatment, medications, and next steps. - Medication Administration and Prescription: apply knowledge of medications to administration and prescription for continuing treatment outside the hospital.
- Discharge Planning: partner with patient and family for discharge plan and arrange follow-up care.
- Assessment and Diagnosis: use tools and techniques for patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, and clinical judgment; resolve issues using available drugs, facilities, and techniques.
- Health Information Documentation: record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests, and medical results in written or electronic form.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
- AHA (American Heart Association) certification required.
- RN - Licensed Registered Nurse required.
- PA - State of Pennsylvania required.
- BSN or completion of BSN within 3 years of hire strongly preferred.
- Previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
