Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Provive Wellness of Scranton is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing behavioral health team. This part-time position begins with a flexible schedule of 6 hours per week, with potential for increased hours as our program expands. The ideal candidate is committed to providing holistic, patient-centered care, and is comfortable managing a range of psychiatric conditions for clients in our outpatient setting.
Experience or certification in administering injectable medications—such as long-acting antipsychotics and vitamin therapies—is highly desirable.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of psychiatric and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices and current guidelines.
- Administer injectable medications, including long-acting antipsychotics and vitamin therapies, as part of treatment plans.
- Monitor and assess patient response to interventions, adjusting treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including therapists, medical staff, and primary care providers—to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Educate patients and families on medication management, mental health conditions, and recovery strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in our electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Participate in case consultations, treatment planning meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Pennsylvania, with current PMHNP certification.
- DEA registration and full prescriptive authority in Pennsylvania.
- Experience administering injectable medications or a willingness to be trained in this area.
- Excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to care.
- Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard clinical documentation practices.
- Direct experience administering injectable psychiatric medications (e.g., long-acting antipsychotics, vitamin B12).
- Prior work in outpatient, inpatient, or community mental health settings.
- Comfort working with diverse patient populations, including those with co-occurring substance use or complex needs.
