Registered Nurse – Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
The Registered Nurse position at SCI Forest supports individuals with medical, behavioral, or developmental needs in a secure setting. The role includes comprehensive nursing care, daily health operations, and professional patient interaction.
Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care: administer medications, treatments, and restorative techniques.
- Patient assessment: monitor vital signs and evaluate conditions to guide care decisions.
- Provide clinical support during exams, clinics, and diagnostic testing.
- Emergency response: offer first aid, CPR, and AED intervention as needed.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and prepare required reports.
- Full‑time employment, 40‑hour work week across multiple shifts (24/7/365). Typical shifts: 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM, 10:00 AM–10:30 PM, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM.
- Alternative schedules possible based on operational needs.
- Telework is not an option for this position.
- Starting annual salary: $89,882.00 before taxes.
- Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- Temporary practice permit holders must obtain RN licensure within one year per Pennsylvania Board of Nursing.
- Graduation from an approved nursing school within 60 days qualifies; must provide temporary permit or RN license at appointment.
- Must demonstrate ability to perform essential job functions.
- PA residency waiver currently applicable.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA required.
- Pass background investigation and meet CJIS compliance.
