Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor

This position supervises and supports nursing staff of Torrance State Hospital who provide care to forensic patients with acute and long-term psychiatric needs. The role focuses on leadership, communication, and ensuring safe, effective treatment. As a Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Leadership: Guide and evaluate nursing personnel to ensure responsible and effective patient care
- Clinical Oversight: Review treatment interventions and support continuous improvement in nursing practices
- Environment Safety: Assess care areas and correct unsafe conditions to maintain a therapeutic setting
- Training Support: Promote staff development through coaching, orientation and mandatory learning programs
- Communication Duties: Share important clinical and administrative information to keep teams aligned
- Policy Compliance: Apply hospital and forensic standards to enhance quality of patient services

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with 30-minute lunch
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years as a Forensic Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of professional nursing experience providing care, treatment, custody, and control of psychiatric patients
Special Requirements:
- The position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
- If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title
- You must be able to perform essential job functions
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
