This position is available for licensed Registered Nurses (RN). Under a nurse’s supervision, performs designated technical, clerical, and clinical tasks associated with patient home care, including assessment, obtaining IV access, port access, education, and infusion of injectable medications. In addition, performs tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy and nursing records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs.

• Administer Infusions and Injections – Administer specialty medications via IV, subcutaneous injections, or other methods as prescribed by the healthcare provider. Monitor patients during the infusion process for any adverse reactions or complications.
• Patient Assessment – Assess the patient’s medical history, allergies, and current medications before administering treatments. Evaluate the patient’s physical condition and vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate) before, during, and after infusions. Identify and document any potential risks, side effects, or issues related to infusion therapy.
• Education and Counseling – Educate patients and caregivers about their medication, how it works, potential side effects, and what to expect. Provide instructions on managing side effects or emergencies at home after the infusion.
• Patient Monitoring and Follow‑up – Continuously monitor patients for immediate reactions during and after infusions. Schedule follow‑up calls or visits to monitor progress and any delayed side effects. Adjust care plans based on patient feedback.
• Documentation and Record Keeping – Maintain accurate records of the infusion process, patient responses, adverse events, and medication administration. Document patient education and follow‑up instructions, ensuring compliance with regulations and pharmacy policies.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Providers – Work closely with nursing team, pharmacists, and other pharmacy staff to ensure optimal patient care. Communicate issues or concerns regarding treatment effectiveness or patient reactions to the clinical nurse supervisor.
• Medication Management – Ensure proper preparation and handling of medications, adhering to safety standards. Verify right medication and dosage for each patient.
• Quality Control and Safety – Ensure sterile techniques and safety protocols during infusion. Follow infection control guidelines to prevent contamination.
• Inventory Management – Monitor medication stock levels; coordinate with pharmacy team to manage inventory and ensure availability of needed medications.
• Support for Specialty Medication Services – Assist with insurance verification or authorization processes related to specialty medications.
• Travel Requirement – Infusion nurse must travel to and from patient’s home for each infusion session.
• Hours Commitment – Minimum 24–30 hours per week on average (workload permitting). 30 hours required for benefits. 20 hours bi‑weekly to retain employment status.

• Participation in CSI’s Immunoglobulin Mentorship Program may be required. Serve as a mentor to new or transferring nursing staff within the assigned region.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and professional support for less experienced nurses in immunoglobulin therapy delivery.
• Assist with training activities, including review of educational materials, infusion protocols, and patient care standards.
• Act as a clinical resource to the assigned mentee during orientation or transition period.
• Review competency checklists and required training records; conduct direct observation of clinical practice and document mentorship activities.

• College degree or certification required (or equivalent experience).
• RN: 2 years’ experience (Required).
• ER/ICU/Infusion: 1 year’s experience preferred.
• Experience accessing PIV lines, ports, and maintaining PICC lines: 1 year required.
• Infusion experience in a hospital or Home Health setting: 1 year preferred.

Regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects or tools, and reach with hands and arms. Frequently lifts up to 20 pounds. Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Employee will be required to drive daily for meetings and/or visits to residential homes. Work in varied residential environments based on assigned caseload, traveling by automobile and potentially exposed to changing weather conditions.
