Summary
The position will require the attendants to drive in a Township vehicle between our thirteen (13) parks to check on pavilion rentals, facility cleanliness, and to interact and engage with the public. Additional responsibilities include walking the parks and facilities, engaging the public, and informing staff of maintenance concerns. Work schedule commitment is a minimum of one shift per weekend, either 7:00 am to 1:00 pm or 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
The season starts the first Saturday in April and continues through the last Sunday in October.
Essential Functions
Review the weekend park pavilion rental schedule and drive to those pavilions/areas to ensure they are clean and appointed with appropriate supplies.Drive between all thirteen parks, checking for cleanliness.Operate the leaf blower when needed to clean park pavilion areas.Engage and interact with individual(s) that are renting facilities.Engage and interact with park users regarding all available Township Parks and amenities.Check trash receptacles and ensure that extra trash liners are available for rented pavilions.Identify and report problems of maintenance of parks and other public areas to the Director of Recreation.Physical Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old.Ability to demonstrate physical fitness to include occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).Ability to stand and walk frequently up to 50% of the time.Bending, pushing, and pulling occasionally (less than 50% of the time).Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.Ability to talk, hear, and see.Ability to operate light equipment, including, but not limited to, a leaf blower.Ability to maintain a valid PA driver's license and drive aCompetencies
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures for equipment and tools.Knowledge of department policy, procedures, and work rules.Ability to work independently but remain flexible in accordance with the demands of the schedule and work team to achieve department objectives.Ability to work alongside another Park Ambassador when needed, including inside a Township vehicle while traveling to different park locations.Ability to adhere to safety standards and recognize safety warnings and hazards.Ability to demonstrate clear vision during the day, and sound hearing to avoid possible hazards, including moving vehicles and road equipment.Ability to demonstrate polite and courteous manner toward fellow employees and Township customers.Disclaimer
