Pharmacy Projects Specialist
Responds to client requests for issue resolution, including delivery, rebate and credits, contract inquiries, while utilizing Cencora's support resources network where necessary. Sources data and generates appropriate reports in support of customer initiatives and projects.
Responsibilities- Develops and sustains long‑term customer relationships while engaging customers at all levels, including senior levels of the customer's organization to drive optimal experience.
- Understands customer‑specific nuances and ensures internal teams have the knowledge needed to drive alignment between the customer and internal Cencora stakeholders to effectively service the customer.
- Provides onsite customer support, acts as liaison and point of escalation for health systems, working collaboratively with Cencora (e.g., onboarding/offboarding, conversion activities, and process/policy/technology changes).
- Serves as the on‑site subject matter expert (SME) for Cencora Ordering platforms and associated report generation and interpretation.
- Responsible for discussing new enhancements and functionality that will benefit the customer.
- Partners appropriately with external client representatives and internal Cencora support to ensure business goals are aligned and tracked.
- Meets with client stakeholders to establish mutually agreed upon timelines for reporting, metrics and progress updates.
- Participates in regularly required service compliance training and completes all training on time.
- Delivers regular updates to client on resolved issues and status of critical backordered items.
- Reviews Cencora purchasing reports as well as pharmacy system reports for opportunities and summarizes into concise data for review by client and Cencora leadership.
- Participates in projects focused on client saving initiatives such as GPO, contract optimization, and/or inventory optimization.
- Discusses Cencora clinical solutions with client where applicable.
- Communicates effectively with both internal and external senior‑level management to understand customer needs, maximize retention and growth, and communicate initiatives/milestones.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for managing the following metrics for the client:
- Allocation tracking reports
- Backorder reports
- Contract compliance reports
- Generic conversion opportunity reports
- 340B savings reports (where applicable)
- Quarterly business review savings opportunity reports
Requires broad training in fields such as pharmaceutical purchasing, pharmacy technician, supply chain, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four‑year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Pharmacy technician certification and/or experience as a pharmaceutical buyer highly preferred. Requires 2+ years of experience within a pharmacy or healthcare finance department.
Knowledge and Skills- Strong verbal and written communication, strategic planning, and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; able to present information professionally and effectively to customers, associates, and management.

Full time. Salary Range: $57,900 - 85,360 (National Average). Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois may vary up to 10% lower or 12% higher than the national range.
