Position Summary
  • Position Title: Outside Sales Representative
  • Territory: Southeast PA
  • Job Type: Full‑Time
  • Compensation: $85,000 – $120,000 base salary, plus commission and performance incentives
  • Primary Focus: Existing account retention & growth, new business development and account growth within lawn care, landscape, commercial turf, sports turf, plant health care, and arborist markets
  • Product Focus: Fertilizer, seed, and plant protection products along with Kress Commercial equipment
  • Travel: Regular travel within assigned territory required
  • Work Environment: Field‑based role with in‑person customer interaction
Role Description

Fisher & Son is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to maintain, build and grow our business in the Southeast PA market.

This role is focused on servicing and growing business with existing clients while developing new business and establishing long‑term customer relationships across lawn care, landscape, commercial turf, sports turf, and plant health care accounts. The position will lead with full‑service consultative programs including fertilizer, seed, and plant protection products. It will expand with introducing customers to Kress Commercial equipment.

The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, relationship‑driven, and comfortable managing a territory with a high level of independence and accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with senior Fisher representatives to service and grow existing customers
  • Prospect and develop new business within the SE Eastern PA territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with lawn care companies, landscape contractors, commercial accounts, sports turf accounts, and plant health care providers
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and on‑site customer visits
  • Introduce and grow Kress Commercial equipment solutions
  • Expand accounts into recurring programs (fertilizer, seed, and plant protection products)
  • Manage territory activity, pipeline, and sales performance against goals
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Turf Management, Horticulture or related field)
  • Equivalent professional sales experience will be considered in place of a degree
  • Industry experience in turf, landscape, or plant health care is required
  • Industry certifications or continuing education in turf, agronomy, or equipment are a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of sales principles, customer relationship management, and territory development
  • Proficiency with basic business tools (Microsoft Office, email communication)
  • Ability to quickly learn technical product knowledge and effectively communicate value to customers
Experience Requirements
  • 5‑10+ years of green industry experience preferred
  • Candidates without formal sales experience may be considered if they have relevant industry experience and demonstrate strong communication skills, work ethic, and a desire to build a career in sales
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience prospecting, developing, and closing new business
  • Ability to build and maintain long‑term customer relationships
  • Experience managing a territory and prioritizing sales activities
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience conducting product demonstrations and in‑field customer visits
  • Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into effective product solutions
  • Experience working independently with a high level of accountability and time management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously
