Job Description Summary

The Guo laboratory in the Department of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a bioinformatician to join the team. The Guo lab studies the genetic and genomic basis of Alzheimer's disease and neurodegenerative diseases.

Job Description

The bioinformatician will lead computational analyses of human and model organism genetic and genomic datasets, including genome sequencing, RNA-seq, and epigenetic sequencing assays. This will include identifying germline and somatic mutations and correlating with transcriptomic and epigenetic changes. The bioinformatician will develop and maintain lab genomic datasets, data storage systems, and software.

In addition to the duties above, the bioinformatician B will also help train junior trainees on basic computational and bioinformatics skills.

Position is contingent upon continued funding.

  • A level:
    Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • B level:
    Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
