Position Overview
As a Park Resource Ranger with the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, you will play a key part in maintaining safe and welcoming park spaces. You support visitors, safeguard natural resources, and respond to situations with calm leadership.
Job Description- Visitor support:
Provide information, answer questions, and assist guests with park facilities. - Safety monitoring:
Patrol park areas by vehicle, bicycle, foot, or watercraft explaining rules and reporting concerns. - Emergency response:
Assist with first aid, CPR, and search and rescue operations. - Facility oversight:
Inspect buildings and park structures for hazards and complete safety reports. - Operational tasks:
Prepare notices, issue parking tickets, and maintain clean vehicles, equipment, and work areas. - Issue reporting:
Keep supervisors informed of visitor issues, safety needs, and operational problems.
- Seasonal full‑time position, approximately March 2026 – November 2026; no healthcare benefits.
- Workdays/shifts vary; 37.5 hours per week, including holidays and weekends.
- Telework not available.
- Employees will be placed on leave without pay after the season and returned to employment March 2027.
- Active motor vehicle license.
- Valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent) within 60 days of employment.
- PA residency requirement met.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation.
- Completion of Child Abuse, Criminal, and Federal Criminal History Checks per Act 153 of 2014.
- Position falls under Child Protective Services Law: conditional offer requires comprehensive criminal history clearance.
