Security Officer

Overview

Join the Department of Labor and Industry as a Security Officer 1 and help create a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits the Hiram G. Andrews Center. You support the safety and well‑being of students, staff, and visitors, ensuring operations run smoothly and securely.

• Patrol assigned buildings and grounds to maintain safety and enforce rules
• Observe individuals and property and report suspicious activity or safety issues to supervisors
• Assist during fires, accidents, or other emergencies and help first responders as needed
• Secure buildings and operate doors and access points according to schedules
• Maintain order in the lobby area and dispatch staff during emergencies
• Transport individuals, property, and secure materials to designated locations

• Full‑time: 40 hours per week
• Shifts:
  
  8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM; 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
• Overtime required
• No telework
• Salary: starting salary may be non‑negotiable

• Valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator’s license
• CPR certificate upon hire
• Pennsylvania residency required
• Ability to perform essential job functions
• Submit satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance
