Overview
Join the Department of Labor and Industry as a Security Officer 1 and help create a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits the Hiram G. Andrews Center. You support the safety and well‑being of students, staff, and visitors, ensuring operations run smoothly and securely.
Responsibilities- Patrol assigned buildings and grounds to maintain safety and enforce rules
- Observe individuals and property and report suspicious activity or safety issues to supervisors
- Assist during fires, accidents, or other emergencies and help first responders as needed
- Secure buildings and operate doors and access points according to schedules
- Maintain order in the lobby area and dispatch staff during emergencies
- Transport individuals, property, and secure materials to designated locations
- Full‑time: 40 hours per week
- Shifts:
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM; 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM - Overtime required
- No telework
- Salary: starting salary may be non‑negotiable
- Valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator’s license
- CPR certificate upon hire
- Pennsylvania residency required
- Ability to perform essential job functions
- Submit satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance
