Company Description

Metro One Security is a privately owned, living-wage employer that has grown since 1994 from a local guard-based firm into a nationally recognized leader in retail loss prevention, trusted by many of the top U.S. retailers. The company is known for disciplined hiring and training practices and for strategies that focus on preventing loss rather than simply reacting to incidents. All operations are supported by Aurix, a proprietary automation platform that enhances prevention, detection, and reporting across client sites.

Metro One integrates closely with retail operations—from dock to display, during store openings, and through seasonal surges—to protect people, products, and profitability. Team members join an organization that values reliability, consistency, and proactive adaptation to emerging threats.

Role Description

The Corporate Security Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Downtown, PA, responsible for safeguarding client facilities, personnel, and assets. Daily responsibilities include monitoring entrances and exits, conducting patrols, and overseeing access control to ensure a secure environment. The Officer will respond to incidents, document security events, and collaborate with store and corporate management to support loss prevention initiatives. The role involves using security technologies and reporting tools, following established post orders, and maintaining clear, professional communication with clients, colleagues, and visitors.

The Corporate Security Officer is expected to present a professional demeanor, adhere to company policies, and support Metro One’s commitment to proactive risk mitigation.

Qualifications
  • Security operations skills, including access control, patrol procedures, incident response, and basic loss prevention practices.
  • Risk and safety awareness, including hazard identification, conflict de-escalation, and emergency response protocols.
  • Observation and reporting skills, including accurate note-taking, incident documentation, and use of digital reporting systems.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and team members in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and to work varied shifts as required by client operations.
  • Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience is beneficial but not required, depending on client needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or relevant certifications (e.g., state guard license where applicable) are a plus.
  • Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow procedures and adapt to changing conditions.
