This position directs staff and daily activities to maintain safe care, custody, and control of inmates throughout the facility. It focuses on leadership, coordination, and supervision across key institutional functions. As a Corrections Officer 3, you will perform the following duties:

• Staff Guidance:
  Supervise officers, review performance, and provide training that supports safe institutional practices
• Daily Oversight:
  Plan schedules, direct inmate movement, and maintain required operational reports
• Housing Monitoring:
  Conduct tours, observe inmate behavior, and address concerns within assigned units
• Transport Control:
  Process commitments, oversee inmate transports, and inspect vehicles and materials for security risks
• Policy Compliance:
  Investigate violations, recommend discipline, and participate in formal review sessions
• Crisis Support:
  Respond to emergencies and support established procedures for crisis prevention

• Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are to be determined with set days off.
• This position is eligible for retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework:

• One year as a Corrections Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
• Four years of experience in corrections security work in a Pennsylvania state or county corrections facility. (

  Persons seeking employment under this option will be required to successfully complete, or have completed, a training program conducted by the Department of Corrections.)

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required .
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
