Become a Corrections Locksmith with the Department of Corrections (DOC) at State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix and take on work that truly matters. Responsibilities- Lock System Work: Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic locking equipment.
- Key Management: Produce keys, adjust master key systems, and document broken or missing keys.
- Inventory Control: Determine needed tools and materials and maintain an active supply of parts and equipment.
- Inmate Oversight: Supervise inmates performing non‑security tasks and maintain related records.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all completed work.
- Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).
- Two years of experience in the locksmith trade;
or - An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
