Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor - SCI Muncy

As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor for the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Muncy, you will use your trade knowledge to teach inmates essential skills in electronics repair, installation, and maintenance. Your instruction supports inmate rehabilitation and safety while you help maintain critical electronic systems throughout the facility.

Your responsibilities include classroom instruction, on‑site training, and oversight of inmate work crews.

• Electronics Instruction: Teach inmates trade skills through classroom lessons and supervised practical work.
• Work Crew Oversight: Assign, supervise, and inspect inmate work tasks to ensure accurate completion.
• Tool and Material Control: Issue, track, and inventory tools and supplies used during training and maintenance tasks.
• System Maintenance: Repair and maintain communication, security, cabling, surveillance, and other facility electronic systems.

• Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week.
• Work hours:
  
  7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Eligible for telework.
• Full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

• Three (3) years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment,
  or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation and meet CJIS compliance requirements.
