Descriptionof Work
In this position, you will support the care and upkeep of park facilities, equipment, and grounds through a wide variety of skilled tasks. The work you will do involves using knowledge in several trades to keep the park running safely and efficiently. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Equipment Operation:
Operate light and heavy equipment safely while maintaining accurate logs and reports - Mechanical Work:
Perform repairs and routine service on park vehicles, tractors, mowers, and small equipment - Electrical Tasks:
Install and repair outlets, switches, lighting, and basic electrical service for park buildings - Plumbing
Skills:
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, water lines, and related systems - Carpentry Duties:
Use tools to complete rough and finish carpentry including repairs to buildings and structures - Grounds Maintenance:
Care for lawns, trails, and walkways through mowing, pruning, planting, and snow removal - Custodial Tasks:
Clean and sanitize park facilities, restrooms, pit latrines, pavilions, and vehicles
Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 30‑minute lunch. Work shifts and days will vary. The employee will work 37.5 hours per week across 5 days, which will include weekends and holidays. Telework: you will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: in some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
QualificationsMinimum experience and training requirements
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
