Diesel Mechanic Technician

Position Overview

Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in New Stanton, Pennsylvania. The role offers weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and a career path you can feel good about.

• Hourly Pay: $31.96 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance, complex mechanical and electronic diagnostics, and detailed inspections & repairs.
• Replace defective components as instructed and work largely unsupervised.
• Perform facility maintenance duties.
• Interact with customers and drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task.
• Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation.
• Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
• Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
• Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
• Support operations, including Service Island duties.
• Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
  220).
• Complete 2 of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan‑tool software courses as required by fleet mix within 365 days.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Vocational or technical certification or a post‑secondary degree (preferred).
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred); minimum of 2 years mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment.
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, basic diagnostics, and AC & electrical systems.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred).
• Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background & motor‑vehicle check (including drug & alcohol verification for the last 3 years).

• The position requires driving Ryder vehicles.
• Must obtain and maintain all required certifications as mandated by location.
