Position Overview
Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in New Stanton, Pennsylvania. The role offers weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and a career path you can feel good about.
Compensation and Benefits- Hourly Pay: $31.96 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
- Sign On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, weekends off - Hours:
First Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm - Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance, complex mechanical and electronic diagnostics, and detailed inspections & repairs.
- Replace defective components as instructed and work largely unsupervised.
- Perform facility maintenance duties.
- Interact with customers and drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task.
- Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation.
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
- Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
- Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
- Support operations, including Service Island duties.
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
220). - Complete 2 of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan‑tool software courses as required by fleet mix within 365 days.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Vocational or technical certification or a post‑secondary degree (preferred).
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred); minimum of 2 years mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment.
- Basic tools required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, basic diagnostics, and AC & electrical systems.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred).
- Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
- Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background & motor‑vehicle check (including drug & alcohol verification for the last 3 years).
- The position requires driving Ryder vehicles.
- Must obtain and maintain all required certifications as mandated by location.
