Field Service Technician III
Ener Sys Energy Systems seeks a highly motivated and skilled field service technician to provide advanced on-site support for our battery and systems products and services. The primary focus is the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of complex equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide expert-level technical support to customers, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of complex battery equipment and power systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot intricate technical issues using in-depth knowledge and advanced diagnostic tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and performance optimization to maximize uptime and reliability.
- Proactively identify potential issues and implement preventive measures to avoid costly downtime.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, communicating technical information clearly and professionally.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO
9000 standards. - Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Mentor junior technicians, sharing expertise and supporting their development.
- Lead and manage small-scale field service projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.
- Meticulously document all service activities, maintaining maintenance records, repair logs, and customer interactions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze performance data and identify trends to improve service delivery and efficiency.
- Advanced field service expertise with proven ability to install, maintain, and repair complex battery and power systems.
- Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills for effective technical knowledge transfer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety and compliance standards (OSHA, DOT Hazmat, ISO
9000). - Experience in mentoring and training junior technicians.
- Project management experience for small-scale field service initiatives.
- Exceptional documentation, reporting, and data analysis skills.
- Willingness to perform overnight travel and overtime.
- Ability to operate a forklift and use company vehicles, meeting all driving requirements.
- Ability to differentiate colors, frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Daily lifting capability up to 50 pounds (23 kilos) with mechanical assistance for heavier loads.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and work in varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Acceptance of risk of electrical shock and exposure to harmful materials (lead/fiberglass); periodic blood tests may be required.
- Experience working in plant/warehouse environments with varying conditions.
