Would you enjoy a career where your leadership skills directly support the daily operations of an important state facility? As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman at State Correctional Institution (SCI) Coal Township, you will have the opportunity to guide hands-on work that keeps the institution safe and functioning. This role allows you to guide inmate work crews as they complete essential maintenance tasks around the facility.
Your work will focus on supporting repairs, groundskeeping, and daily upkeep tasks that help operations run smoothly.
- Crew Oversight:
Direct inmate workers completing construction, maintenance, janitorial, lawn care, and snow removal tasks - Skilled Trades:
Perform or assist with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, painting, welding, and related work - Tool Control:
Issue and inventory tools and materials while conducting searches to ensure accountability - Material Planning:
Identify needed materials and submit purchase requests for supplies and tools - Work Documentation:
Record inmate attendance, inspect assignments, and track completion of daily tasks
- Full-time employment, 40 hours/week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position . - Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,010.00 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. - Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work ; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training .
- You must possess a current driver's license which is not under suspension.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
