As a Social Worker 2, you will be responsible for delivering social work services to the residents of the Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home. This includes conducting and maintaining comprehensive psychosocial assessments for assigned residents; integrating these assessments into each resident’s overall plan of care; documenting social services provided in compliance with regulatory requirements; providing consultation to facility leadership and professional staff; and delivering individual and group counseling to residents and families using appropriate therapeutic methods to support emotional well‑being, adjustment, and improved social functioning.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.

- Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment); or
- Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth or equivalent federal government title, as determined by the Office of Administration) and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
- Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
- A master’s degree in social work or social welfare.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Special Requirements- You must possess an active license as a Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.
- You must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within two months of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment.
- You must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
