Overview
Bedford-Somerset DBHS provides residential behavioral health services. This part‑time Residential Program Trainee supports individuals in a living environment to build daily living skills, independence, and safety.
Responsibilities- Teach daily living skills such as hygiene, nutrition, safety practices, and routine tasks.
- Assist with problem solving, communication, and other life skills for community integration.
- Support direct care tasks including cooking, shopping, housekeeping, laundry, and other home activities.
- Provide community assistance: transportation, family interactions, medication administration, and money management.
- Maintain accurate documentation, complete required reports, and share updates during team meetings.
- Follow safety protocols, participate in drills, and help maintain a safe living environment.
- Part‑time, 0 to 28 hours per week, as needed.
- Shift work including weekends and holidays.
- Occasional overtime may be required for projects or emergencies.
- Telework is not available for this position.
- Meeting Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Background investigation clearance.
- Compliance with the Older Adult Protective Services Act, including satisfactory criminal history reports, PA State Police clearance, and FBI clearance.
- Compliance with the Child Protective Services Law, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
- Pennsylvania law provides employment preference for qualified veterans (51 Pa. C.S. § 7103).
- TRS service number 711 available for individuals with hearing and speech disabilities.
