Position: County Caseworker 1 - Supports Coordinator - (Local Government) - Wayne County MH/ID

The Wayne County Behavioral Health & Intellectual Disabilities

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible professional committed to delivering high-quality behavioral health services to individuals and families. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, sound judgment, strong organizational abilities, and effective communication skills across all age groups. DESCRIPTION

OF WORK

Support service planning and coordination for individuals with intellectual disabilities and related needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing treatment and support plans
  • Locating appropriate service providers
  • Maintaining accurate documentation to ensure continuity of care
  • Acting as an advocate for consumers
  • Completing life-management planning
  • Working directly with families and service teams
  • Managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meeting strict deadlines
  • Traveling frequently within and outside the county and performing duties in various community and home settings
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours:

    8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Not on call, but may be called out in an emergency situation.
  • May have occasional overnight travel or out-of-county travel for meetings or training.
  • Telework is not an option for this position.
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college-level coursework including 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • A bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case-management functions.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
