Position: Aging Case Aide 2 (Local Government) - Wayne County Area Agency on Aging, ADLC - Hawley

Located in Hawley, Wayne County, PA—this Aging Case Aide 2 position is a rewarding opportunity for a patient, compassionate, and organized individual who enjoys working with senior citizens and supporting their independence and well‑being. With our Area Agency on Aging, you will join the collaborative team at our Adult Daily Living Center (ADLC) and Senior Center in Hawley and assist at other senior centers or satellites as needed.

Duties include assisting senior day center participants with personal care and daily needs while promoting safety, dignity, and independence. Wayne County offers an excellent benefits package, including meaningful work serving older adults in the community.

This position participates in the direct community and personal care support provided by the Hawley ADLC and Senior Center in addition to supporting our agency’s work and community outreach at other locations as needed. On‑the‑job training and in‑service training sessions and seminars are provided. As an Aging Case Aide 2, you will be trained in and perform the following duties:

Key Responsibilities
  • Information Access: Provide information, assistance, and benefits counseling to older adults, including Medicare/PA MEDI, PACE, LIHEAP, and Tax/Rent Rebate programs
  • Care Coordination: Assist with application completion, referrals to community resources, and coordination with agency care management
  • Participant Support: Perform routine non‑professional care services for participants with significant cognitive and/or physical disabilities; support daily nutrition services including meal distribution and sanitation procedures
  • Program

    Activities:

    Coordinate senior center programs, activities, and special events; recruit and supervise volunteers; assist with member registration and assessments; and collect and document donations
  • Community Outreach: Conduct outreach throughout Wayne County, including home visits to homebound clients; assist with newsletters, informational displays, transportation arrangements, and Medicare Part D education events
  • Documentation Accuracy: Maintain records and perform data entry in agency and statewide databases, including PA MEDI and Information & Referral documentation
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full‑time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch
  • Employee may have overnight travel or out‑of‑county travel for meetings or training
  • Employee may cover other senior centers or satellites
  • Telework: Telework is not an option for this position
  • Salary: Starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases
Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Aging Case Aide 1
  • Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training

Other Requirements:

  • You must meet the PA residency requirement
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions
Legal Requirements
  • You must pass a background investigation
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical exam and a drug screening
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
