If so, Devereux Center for Effective Schools is seeking a dedicated Student Assistance Program (SAP) Liaison to provide prevention, intervention, consultation, and support services within local school districts. In this rewarding role, you will work directly with students, families, educators, and community providers to identify and address concerns related to mental health, substance use, trauma, self-harm, and other barriers to student success.

Position Summary

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) Liaison provides prevention, intervention, consultation, and referral services to public school students participating in the SAP. Working closely with students, families, school teams, and community providers, the SAP Liaison conducts behavioral health screenings, facilitates psycho educational and prevention-focused groups, provides consultation on mental health and substance use concerns, and connects students and families to appropriate community resources.

This school-based role is essential in promoting early intervention, student wellness, and positive outcomes by helping students overcome barriers to academic and personal success. The SAP Liaison also maintains accurate documentation, ensures compliance with program requirements, and builds strong collaborative relationships with educators, administrators, families, and community partners.

Devereux is a drug-free workplace. Drug screening is required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Education, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in behavioral health, human services, education, or a related setting.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and ability to travel between school locations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Required clearances:
    Act 33/34, Act 168, PDE, and DPW/FBI Fingerprints.

Preferred:

  • Student Assistance Program (SAP) experience.
  • Experience providing school-based services.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health, substance use prevention, and community resources.
  • Experience facilitating groups and working with youth and families.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
  • Frequent computer and office equipment use.
  • Ability to travel regularly between schools and community locations.
  • Normal hearing and vision.
