County Caseworker ; Local Government - Monroe County C&Y

Position Overview

The County Caseworker 1 role with Monroe County Children & Youth Services focuses on supporting families during difficult times by connecting children and youth with vital community resources and guiding them toward greater stability.

• Case Assessment:
  Identify family needs and determine safety concerns for children.
• Service Coordination:
  Connect families with agencies and follow their progress.
• Home Visits:
  Meet with families to observe living conditions and provide support.
• Documentation:
  Record case details and prepare required reports accurately.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work with courts, schools, and service teams to support family goals.
• Work Schedule:
  
  Full‑time employment, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM Monday‑Friday with a 30‑minute lunch; telework not available.

• Minimum experience:
  
  Two years as a County Social Services Aide 3, or a bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences, or an equivalent combination.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• PA residency requirement is waived.
• Must pass a background investigation and comply with the Child Protective Services Law.
