Description
A.) Overall
Purpose:
- Drive a light vehicle, such as a straight truck, with a capacity of less that 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight. In this position you will be delivering rolling racks filled with product to customers on a preset scheduled route, picking up empty racks when possible, or as requested.
B.) Description of
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver merchandise to customers in a timely, effective and efficient manner with emphasis on customer service, neat appearance and safety.
- Pick up return product and rolling racks, as needed.
- Operate company vehicles in a professional, safe and courteous manner.
- Ensure delivery of appropriate merchandise in accordance with customer invoice.
- Responsible for vehicle, ensure that it is kept clean, orderly and in good working condition.
- Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks (pre- and post-inspection) and report any malfunctions to management with proper documentation (inspection form/work-order).
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or other members of management.
Required Skills:
- Valid Driver's license, NO CDL REQUIRED.
- At least 6 months' driving experience.
- Outstanding customer relations and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to push/pull rolling racks with weight exceeding 100 lbs when fully loaded.
- Must be able to lift or at least pull 75 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Clean MVR.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical examiners certificate.
- Pre-employment drug screening and non-DOT physical required.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
