Position: Equipment Operator 2 (Tandem Axle - Dump Truck)

Overview

This is skilled work operating the more complex types of automotive equipment. Employees in this class operate single chassis automotive equipment with accessories that require the manipulation of several controls which govern a limited range of possible movements non-simultaneously with the operation of the basic vehicle, and special purpose automotive equipment designed to accomplish a single purpose that requires a limited number of controls which govern a limited range of movements;

these may be operated in combination with a truck or tractor and semi or full trailer over 15 feet long. Work may include light or heavy physical labor when not operating equipment and driving at the worksite.

Qualifications

Note: Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required. You must submit a copy of your valid CDL to be approved.

Experience: One year of Equipment Operator 1 experience, or one year of experience operating a single chassis truck or moderately heavy automotive equipment.

Possession of the Airport Pavement and Grounds Driving Training Certificate demonstrating successful completion of the Philadelphia Airport's equipment operation training program may be substituted for six months of the experience required.

Licenses: Possession of a valid proper class motor vehicle operator's license with appropriate endorsements in air brakes and/or hazardous materials as required by assignment prior to the scheduled examination and during tenure of employment in the class.
