Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dependable CDL Driver |
Local
to join our Shipping & Receiving team. As a
CDL Driver
, you are responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This is a local/regional driving role in which you will be home every night.
- Operate commercial vehicle for local deliveries, ensuring timely arrival.
- Safely load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Navigate designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs as required by company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain high level of communication with dispatch, yard personnel, and supervisors.
- Demonstrate proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with customers at delivery points.
- Recognize and adhere to best practices for safety.
- Other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must have current and valid Class A CDL.
- Must possess a strong understanding of route driving principles.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in truck driving roles required.
- No serious tickets or accidents in the past 5 years and no DWI/DUI in the last 10 years.
- Familiarity with operating tractor/trailer required.
- Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining delivery logs and records.
- Safety and quality focused.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Must be dependable.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with little supervision required.
