Position: Specialist Play Worker - Children with complex needs

Hours:

Easter holiday - Wednesday and Thursdays plus training day

Contract Type:
Sessional

Salary: £13.22 + £1.60 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a Specialist Play Worker to join our dedicated team at the Scunthorpe Play Scheme for this Easter's play scheme. As a key member of the service, you will help deliver high‑quality, child‑led play opportunities that promote independence, choice, and enjoyment for children and young people with complex needs. Your role will be central to ensuring children can access safe, engaging, and inclusive play.

  • Experience working with children with complex needs
  • Training in enteral feeding, Nutricia pump use, and stoma care
  • Enhanced DBS (required)
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Creativity and enthusiasm to engage children in meaningful play
