Perform mechanical inspection of precision machined components, finished parts, and assemblies using a variety of hand tools, optical comparators, height gages, and CMMs, including manual style CMMs and automated CMMs (PCDMIS and Calypso software). Ensure the quality and reliability of products and services by verifying conformance to technical, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform mechanical inspection of machined parts, standards, and hardware utilizing surface plates, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), manual and/or automated, calipers, bore gages, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators and other precision measuring devices, instruments, and equipment.
- Perform first article, in‑process, and final inspections using all the tools mentioned above.
- Verify all raw materials and outside services for testing documentation. Verify certificates for accuracy and completeness.
- Review all completed work orders, product documentation, test and inspection data to ensure entries are complete, accurate, and legible.
- Ensure material traceability, processing certification, assembly and testing of customer‑furnished, vendor‑supplied products or services, or work in process meet internal and customer requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, diagrams, blueprints, test procedures, and customer specifications to verify compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Utilize online data systems and electronic media to verify customer data and specifications.
- Work independently with minimal supervision. Prioritize work in order to meet commitments and deadlines. Meet established standards for productivity and quality. Confer with supervisor when problems arise that impact expected level of performance.

- Support and ensure compliance with ISO
13485/ISO
9000 Quality Management System.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of inspection‑related experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with surface plate inspection methodologies, shop math, and mechanical inspection instruments.
- Proficient with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to contribute to a team‑oriented environment, balance team and individual responsibilities, and manage emotions effectively.
- Must have vision acuity of 20/30 or better in either eye and be able to read the Jaeger No.2 Eye Chart at 16 in. Natural or corrected vision may be used to achieve eye test requirements.
- CMM experience using both manual style CMMs and automated CMMs (PCDMIS software) is a plus.
- Light physical exertion required.
- Lifting/carrying maximum 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to stand, reach, and move about the facility.
