Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, and demonstrated work experience with emphasis on electrical, carpentry, and/or mechanical
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and do simple mathematics
- Approved certificates or successful time-in-trade for maintenance-related fields
- Ability to qualify for State of Delaware maintenance worker certificate including 120 class hours in custodial training programs
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent work history
- Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to physically lift up to at least 50 pounds
- Demonstrated trustworthiness, honesty, and dependability
- Ability to work independently and without close supervision
- Demonstrated attitude of congeniality with strong interpersonal skills in dealing with students and adults
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule
- Neat and clean personal and professional appearance on the job
Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of principles, practices, and methods used in the construction trade, public agency purchasing, public sector budget development and administration, and sound business communication.
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of basic principles of construction including federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing construction of building facilities.
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of office and records management practices and procedures.
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of organization, policies and procedures relating to the administration of the Seaford School District
- Interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications
- Ability to plan, organize and integrate a variety of technical and administrative support services and activities.
- Ability to read, interpret, enforce and manage construction contract documents and architectural and engineering building designs.
- Ability to evaluate project documents and make sound recommendations for improvement.
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations related to building construction.
- Knowledge of principals, methods, and practices of construction management
- Ability to perform complicated cost calculations and prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive reports and written materials while maintaining complete, comprehensive project records…
