Material Handler

The Material Handler will be responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehouse parts and delivering them to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. Work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. The Material Handler will be required to achieve company standards for Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Productivity.
Qualifications- Material Handler I – 0-2 years of experience; follow and adhere to company policies; high level of attention to detail and accuracy; ability to effectively work in a team environment; effective communication skills; basic PC knowledge; ability to identify and resolve basic problems; perform basic reading, writing, and math functions; high school diploma or equivalent.
- Material Handler II – 1-3 years of experience; high level of attention to detail and accuracy; strong communication skills; intermediate PC knowledge; ability to identify and resolve intermediate problems; ability to operate all forklift or other equipment to transport materials; ability to enter/maintain/transact materials in company ERP program.
- Material Handler III – 2-5 years of experience; strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to operate all forklift or other equipment; ability to learn and use problem‑solving tools; previous experience coaching and training other employees; experience leading and forming teams.
- Preferred Qualifications – previous experience operating a forklift or other equipment; ability to enter/maintain/transact materials in company ERP program.
- Work under general supervision with well‑defined tasks while following company procedures, processes, and policies.
- Participate in metric boards measuring Safety, Quality, CI, and Productivity and have work reviewed for accuracy.
- Complete and retain all required training.
- May resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on level and complexity.
- Follow defined procedures and practices.
- Contacts are typically with immediate supervisor and other members of the team in the immediate organization.
- Participate in 5S programs; determine if an area is normal or abnormal, and if abnormal, fix the area immediately.
- Complete forklift daily per procedure.
- Good attendance is expected per policy.
Report to Materials Supervisor and will take direction from the Materials Leads.
Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to talk and hear; use hands to manipulate objects or controls; stand and walk; on occasion stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders; lift up to 25–50 pounds; frequent and continuous computer‑based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
