• First‑year students of the PhD in Psychology program at ISCTE who are enrolling for the first time.
• Students who are in their first year of the PhD program for the first time (scholarships will be awarded from the beginning of the second year).
• Full‑time students integrated into research units.
• Students who have submitted the documentation referred to in Article 15 of the regulation.
• Students who meet the general and specific eligibility criteria defined by the Scientific Commission of the School and/or the research unit that manages the PhD.
• Students who obtain a final assessment score of at least 15, are within the top 25 % of final assessments, and have no debts with ISCTE.

• Evaluation of expressions of interest according to Article 5 of the regulation.
• Criterion A – Merit of the candidate (0–20 points, weight 50 %).
• Criterion B – Merit of the research project and its alignment with the host research unit (0–20 points, weight 50 %).

• Application request.
• Research project proposal including state of the art, research questions, study design, methodology, and potential contribution to Psychology knowledge following the structure of FCT national doctorate scholarship applications (template available).
• At least two recommendation letters attesting interest and scientific contribution of the proposal and its alignment with the host research unit; one must be from a career researcher or professor, the other from a professional with recognized experience.
• Motivation letter explaining reasons for the scholarship application.
