SHIFT:
Saturday‑Sunday 9:00AM – 11:00PM
- Provide appropriate supervision and training to persons served to facilitate their social wellbeing, health and safety in the least restrictive environment.
- Administer medication to persons served according to medication administration procedures and upon completion of required state certifications.
- Assist persons served in using public transportation or arranging transport to access community resources.
- Plan and implement daily activities that promote social inclusion and build social capital for each person served.
- Follow prescribed SJCS procedures to document supports provided, including progress toward skill acquisition, choices, health matters, achievements and challenges.
- Attend and participate in all mandated events, workshops, training, investigations and meetings.
- Ensure responsible usage of personal and agency resources such as vehicles, property and finances.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- One or more years of experience working with persons with disabilities; experience in community‑based programs preferred.
- Valid health certificate required to meet current funding jurisdiction requirements.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with current driving record in good standing preferred.
- Must meet SJCS and funding jurisdiction current requirements for criminal background/records checks.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of community resources that facilitate social inclusion and autonomy of persons served.
- Ability to acquire working knowledge of St. John’s Community Services policies and procedures.
- Ability to represent St. John’s Community Services publicly.
- Effective communication and coordination skills with staff and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of acceptable meal assistance and safety practices and procedures.
- Proficiency with relevant computer systems, hardware, software and office machines.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Work environment involves risks such as safe operation of a motor vehicle, lifting, transferring and/or positioning persons served, exposure to aggressive behavior and use of office equipment, and prevention of trips and falls.
