Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Position Purpose
Assessing the needs of offering therapeutic support to students for the achievement of academic success in the classroom.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling
- Provide therapeutic classroom support which may include observation, crisis intervention, and staff consultation
- Support Functional Behavior Assessment / Behavior Improvement Plan and IEP activities
- Offer family treatment/support as needed, including short‑term family therapy, liaison work, and home visits
- Provide crisis intervention related to educational performance, with family and interagency involvement (DMH, DRS, YRE, ICT, Family Court, and other mental health agencies)
- Refer to and collaborate with mental health agencies
- Participate as a member of the IEP team for students receiving services
- Serve as a liaison for psychiatric and medication management
- Serve as a liaison between families, students, community agencies, and the schools
- Conduct ongoing assessments of students using Incident Reports, Bus Referrals, Suspensions, FBAs, BIPs, Treatment Notices, and Parent Contracts
- Obtain pre‑ and post‑measurements to evaluate program efficiency
- Provide consultation and training to school staff on behavioral management strategies
- Inform families about behavioral management strategies
- Conduct home visits as needed
- Prepare all necessary records and reports
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration
Additional Duties
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment
Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copy and fax machines, and a telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Work in standard office and school building environments.
Qualifications Profile
- Hold current Delaware Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Possess a Motor Vehicle Operator's License or have reliable transportation
Minimum Qualifications
Teacher Certification
- Delaware Code Title 14 Section 1500. At minimum, a high school diploma or GED is required for all employees of the Seaford School District.
