Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is looking for a Ground Systems Engineer to join our team in Seal Beach, California. The SI&WS GMSE division creates next‑generation products and services for the BDS business unit, working with commercial and proprietary customers to develop cutting‑edge space technologies. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping and demonstrates mission‑focused technologies for a variety of customers, handling all facets of engineering from investment and concept development to design, build, integration, test and demonstration.
PositionResponsibilities
- Apply modern Dev Sec Ops practices (including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code) to streamline integration and test activities.
- Stand up, configure, and maintain secure test environments leveraging cloud‑native and virtualized resources.
- Drive continuous improvement of integration and test processes, incorporating automation, metrics, and lessons learned to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Automate, develop, monitor, improve, and troubleshoot across software engineering development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls.
- Review, develop, document, and maintain system requirements and traceability.
- Interface with cross‑functional teams, senior leadership, and external customers.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with an adjudicated polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.
- 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Linux.
- Experience with Ansible software platform.
- Experience with Terraform software.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading or managing an engineering project or team.
- Experience with Packer, Nessus, and Trivy Dev Sec Ops tools.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS), cert‑manager, Harbor, Postgres, and Windows.
- Experience with Shell and Python scripting.
- Experience working with Government customers.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
60 – 65 USD hourly
