Location:
Seal Beach, CA. This role seeks a Senior Ground Systems Engineer (Level 5 or
6) to lead development of next-generation satellite ground mission planning systems.
As a Ground Engineer, you will provide overall direction for major sections of the ground system software development staff and programs, lead the development of cutting‑edge technology in an agile environment, and mentor team members.
Position Responsibilities- Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex system solutions.
- Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements; integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
- Perform analyses to optimize system architecture and assess affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory and certification aspects.
- Develop, maintain and improve planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk mitigation, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.
- Support government and interface working groups and resolve cross‑functional technical issues.
- Work 100% onsite at the listed location.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). A clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent non‑U.S. qualification directly related to the work.
- Minimum 14 years of engineering experience.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
- Level 6 (Principal) – 20+ years of engineering experience.
- Advanced technical education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. - Experience with Agile and Model‑Based Engineering processes.
- Experience throughout the complete systems engineering lifecycle.
- Basic knowledge of orbital dynamics, RF communications, satellite links, transponder loading, military communication architectures.
- Experience with Satellite Bus and Payload Resource Management System.
- Compliance with U.S. export control requirements; must be a U.S. Person.
- Position is for 1st shift.

- Contingent upon program award.
- Senior (Level5): $176,800–$239,200
- Principal (Level6): $210,800–$285,200
