Ground MILSATCOM Systems Engineer Mid-Level or Lead

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space & Mission Systems MILSATCOM Program seeks a Ground MILSATCOM Systems Engineer (Level 3 or
4) in Seal Beach, CA.

The position is expected to be 100% onsite and requires occasional domestic travel. The selected candidate will work the 1st shift.

This Ground MILSATCOM Systems Engineer will lead the development of satellite ground mission planning systems in an agile environment. Responsibilities include providing overall direction for major sections of the ground system software development staff, mentoring team members, and performing analysis of system requirements, interfaces, architecture, integration, testing, and demonstration to ensure the ground system meets customer intent.

• Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
• Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and ensure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
• Perform various analyses to optimize total system architecture and system of systems.
• Perform analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory compliance, certification, product assurance, and other quality factors to select a preferred configuration that ensures mission success.
• Develop, maintain and identify improvements for planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issue, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
• Support government and interface working groups.
• Resolve cross‑functional technical issues.

• Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically as needed.

• Lead, Level 4 – 9+ years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with Agile and Model Based Engineering processes.
• Basic orbital dynamics knowledge.
• Experience with RF communications, satellite links, transponder loading and military communication architectures.
• Experience with Satellite Bus and Payload Resource Management.
• Operational knowledge of key MILSATCOM systems.

Summary Pay Range – Mid-Level, Level 3: $119,850 – $162,150.

Summary Pay Range – Lead, Level 4: $146,200 – $197,800.
