Position Overview

In this role you will be responsible for delivering technical in‑service support, fostering a safety culture, supporting high quality deliverables, advocating on behalf of operators with internal/external stakeholders, ensuring optimal team performance, and enhancing customer satisfaction. You will lead and support a multi‑skill team that analyzes airplane data and provides proactive solutions for the customer to keep their airplanes flying. You will manage the creation of solutions, eliminate obstacles and facilitate collaboration across teams to engage a diverse pool of experts to resolve technical and business issues, and connect the Boeing team with operator requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage engineers and technical personnel in the 24x7 Operations Center that troubleshoot system issues (Avionics, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Propulsion) and develop inspection and repair procedures for operators and airlines to resolve in‑service issues and recover AOG events.
  • Monitor high‑impact emergent issues for operators and customers, provide guidance to Mission Directors, Systems Team Leads, team personnel, and operators.
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
  • Maintain proficiency with Boeing maintenance documents:
    My Boeing Fleet , FIM, AMM, IPD, FTD, SB, SL, MT, and system schematics.
  • Work with functional and business unit management to acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.
  • Interface directly with external customers including airlines, MRO stations, lessors, and other stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with domestic and international customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes related to in‑service issues for Boeing Commercial Airplane owners/operators.
  • Embed leadership expectations of How We Lead by managing as a coach, career mentor, and engineering business leader, coaching, mentoring, and providing developmental opportunities.
  • Schedule team shifts to ensure appropriate coverage 24x7/365.
  • Engage and empower employees to make process improvements and model Boeing values and behaviors.
Qualifications
  • Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
    • 10+ years of experience in the airline/aerospace industry.
    • 5+ years of experience in an aviation‑related engineering, technical, or maintenance position directly supporting airline or government customers.
    • 3+ years of experience in a customer‑facing role.
    • At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temporary manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) or completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Understanding of B737, B747, B767, B777, and/or McDonnell Douglas Heritage Airplane systems.
    • 5+ years of experience performing aircraft maintenance at an airline, delivery center, or flight test.
    • Proven ability to embrace change, lead continuous improvement, and treat safety and quality as top priorities.
    • Experience in customer support, dealing with and solving airline operator technical questions and issues.
    • Success leading complex technical projects across multiple functions and disciplines.
    • Understanding of design concepts & technologies and engineering processes.
    • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
    • Proven ability to manage and empower teams in ambiguous environments.
Location & Shift

Seal Beach, CA – 100% onsite. Requires ability to work, function, and lead in a high‑paced 24x7/365 operational environment and travel up to 15% domestically or internationally.
