Structural Repair Engineer (Associate or Experienced) (Structural Design)

- Integrates data from production and retrofit drawings, specifications, product standards, tooling designs, internal/external publications, test/inspection procedures, and customer information to ensure complete and accurate SRM procedures
- Coordinates with FAA Engineering Unit Members (E-UM) and IPT groups, such as stress and materials engineering groups, to ensure feasibility, safety, and compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards
- Manages work assignments based on a mutually agreed schedule with internal and external stakeholders
- Analyzes basic customer technical queries and provides retrofit/repair solutions when necessary
- Validates and verifies systems and components by integrating analytical and test results to ensure they meet requirements and specifications
- Uses ENOVIA, CATIA, IVT, and other internal tools to research and understand structural parts, designs, and finishes
- Researches and reviews Stress Engineering’s strength check notes and other engineering data to formulate allowable damage limits and repair procedures in the SRM
- Assists in developing SRM procedures for various components throughout the airframe
- Coordinates with various engineering groups and E-UMs to provide FAA approved structural repairs to meet regulatory/customer requirements and schedules
- Assists in providing updates and necessary improvements to the SRM to improve customer satisfaction, efficiency, and to meet changing requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical, or Material Sciences)
- 3+ years’ experience with structural design principles for repair and maintenance (fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques)
- 3+ years’ experience coordinating across multiple disciplines to develop repair data
- 5+ years’ experience with structural design principles for repair and maintenance and coordinating across multiple disciplines to develop repair data
- Experience with engineering tools such as CATIA, ENVOVIA, and/or PDM, Adobe Frame Maker
- Experience working with FAA continued airworthiness requirements and FAA or Regulatory Administration regulations
- Experience in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations and environment
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Summary pay range:
Associate (level
2): $96,300 – $117,700
Mid Lever (level
3): $117,900 – $144,100
