Primary Responsibilities- Provides engineering leadership to multiple teams to ensure thoughtful strategic planning, development of objective statements of work, scheduling of work and estimating.
- For any event reported through 14 CFR 21.3, leads functional engineering organizations through the Continued Operational Safety process.
- Coordinates closely with Boeing functional groups, management, executives, suppliers, and airlines to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on the potential safety issue status and resolution.
- Works with functional groups to evaluate potential safety issues by defining associated hazards, using complex risk analysis techniques, and determining corrective action timelines.
- Coordinates with functional groups to ensure solutions mitigate potential fleet safety concerns.
- Leads Safety Lessons Learned investigations to address systemic root causes and identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinates with the FAA to support independent safety decisions.
- Partners with Enterprise Safety and SMS to continuously improve processes and tools.
- Acts as a champion for product safety initiatives, objectives, and milestones.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or related field.
- Level 2: 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in aerospace systems engineering.
- Experience with system safety analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience collaborating on multi‑discipline teams.
- Experience working with FAR Part 25.1309 and industry practices such as ARP 4761 & 4754.
- Experience with cross‑discipline engineering teams.
- Experience in airplane systems design and/or analysis (e.g., flight controls, hydraulics, avionics, fuels, etc.) and/or systems integration.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting data and recommendations to management.
Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Pay ranges by level:
- Associate (Level 2): $94,350 – $127,650
- Mid‑Level (Level 3): $114,750 – $155,250
- Senior (Level 4): $141,100 – $190,900
