Airline Support Engineer; Experienced or Senior

Position Overview:

At Boeing Commercial Airplanes, we are dedicated to designing, building, certifying, delivering, and maintaining products and services that prioritize superior safety, quality, and value for our airline customers. We seek a hands‑on engineer who thrives on seeing projects through from inception to completion. In this dynamic role, you will serve as the technical interface between Boeing and airline partners, maintaining operational and reliability performance for safe and economical operations.

As a member of the Airline Support Engineering (ASE) team, you will tackle systems, structures, and operational challenges across the entire airplane, collaborating with expert engineers and leadership within BCA and at airline customers. You will act as a technical advocate, using analytics to recommend reliability and operational improvements and bridging the gap between technical and business concerns.

You will manage Boeing customer engagements globally through executive and technical review meetings, serving as the focal point for addressing and escalating support‑related issues.

Position Responsibilities:

• Proactive technical customer advocate for selected airline customers.
• Develop thorough knowledge of top customer issues and lead resolution to closure by coordinating with functional/integration teams.
• Maintain frequent contact and coordination with Boeing Field Service Representatives and customer airlines.
• Author and review documentation associated with the airlines, including messages, trip reports, meeting minutes, and reliability reports.
• Understand the products Boeing supports, including commercial model airplanes and airline operations.
• Build and maintain relationships with Service Engineering, Field Service Representatives, Customer Engineering, Program Management, Sales, Airline Logistics, and others.
• Use program management skills to lead resolution of customer in‑service issues, assess priorities, determine available resources, and develop action plans.
• Manage multiple projects and demands in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Communicate plans for supporting customers to internal and external organizations and monitor follow‑up to ensure execution and closure.
• Execute proposed actions and ensure timely completion.
• Interact and work with senior level executives and mid‑level managers at airlines and at Boeing.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and build constructive relationships in a diverse environment.
• Coordinate and present to Airline Customer and Boeing Executive Leadership.
• Lead activities across customer accounts as needed.
• Occasional travel to airline bases and customers required.
• Travel periodically to integrate with customers, suppliers, and organizations.
• Work alternate shifts occasionally to support 24/7 customer needs.

Work Authorization: This position is expected to be 100% onsite at Seal Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a non‑US equivalent qualification directly related to the work.
• 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline.
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired):

• 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
• ABET accreditation preferred (not required).
• Experience working with organizational leaders to develop and implement plans and objectives.
• Experience supporting technical questions for airplane programs or similar.
