Company:
The Boeing Company – Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced Payloads / Interiors Design Engineer (Level
3) to support our Out‑of‑Production (OoP) Payloads Design Engineering (DE) team based in Seal Beach, California.

Position Responsibilities
  • Works with the OoP Chief Program Engineer (CPE) office as the Responsible Engineer on COSP/SRP projects related to Payloads for OoP aircraft.
  • Organizes design reviews with SMEs, formulates a path forward with findings and prepares technical presentations for executive review boards of potential safety items.
  • Reviews Engineering documents for past design.
  • Creates design solutions for SRPs, interfaces with suppliers for development, test and production activities.
  • Supports BGS Spares and Service Engineering.
  • Develops, maintains and modifies interior payload system and component designs, using 3‑D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Works under minimal direction.

Compliance:
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Location:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Seal Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences).
  • 2+ years of experience with commercial aircraft program.
  • 2+ years of experience with payloads engineering (e.g., Cabin, Cockpit and Cargo).
  • 5+ years of experience in designing structural or interior payload systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • 2+ years’ experience using CATIA v5 and ENOVIA.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Strong collaborative skills to deal with multiple team functions.
  • Experience with Evacuation Systems and Water/Waste helpful but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience.
