Job Description
We are seeking experienced or senior Environmental Control System Service Engineers to join Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) in Seal Beach, CA. The role supports in‑service and development programs for 747, 767, 777, 787, 737NG, 737
MAX, 777X, and next‑generation commercial aircraft.
The Engineer works directly with airline customers to resolve in‑service issues related to Environmental Control Systems, including Cabin Air Conditioning, Temperature Control, Pneumatic System, Cabin Pressurization, Ant‑Ice Protection, Nitrogen Generation, Cargo Smoke Detection and Fire Suppression, and Instrument Cooling.
Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide technical, design, and informational support for production and in‑service issues.
Act as liaison and coordinate with engineering disciplines to address customer concerns.
Assist with the development and documentation of requirements via drawings, data sets, reports, and specifications.
Support analysis, definition, and verification of requirements, and modify them as approved.
Generate or support technical documentation such as Fleet Team Digest articles, service letters, drawings, specifications, test requirement documents, and manuals.
Assist with technology development studies, data gathering, testing support, and documentation of findings.
Review technical design, analysis, and production documentation; participate in design reviews and audits.
Investigate problems and provide engineering resolution of discrepancies.
Perform tests to verify operational and functional requirements.
Research basic technologies for potential application to the company’s business needs.
Assist project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions.
Lead research of technical, operational, and quality issues when customer resolution is not possible.
Design or analyze interim and final engineering solutions to return aircraft to revenue service.
Conduct root‑cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non‑conformances.
Develop customer correspondence for safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
Provide support for fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle.
The position requires flexibility to address emergent issues and participate in airline meetings outside of standard hours, including occasional off‑shift work.
Basic Qualifications (Required)Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Materials Science).
5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Willingness to work outside of standard 1st shift, including Saturdays and Sundays.
LEVEL 4: 9+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time.
2+ years of experience with Environmental Control Systems.
Experience with Boeing 7‑series airplanes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation experience.
Knowledge of thermodynamics, airflow analysis, modeling, or mechanical systems analysis.
Experience collaborating with multiple team functions.
Experience with customer support.
Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience.

- Experienced (Level
3): $111,350 – $150,650 - Senior (Level
4): $135,150 – $182,850
Position requires U.S. export control compliance. Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62.
