Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Avionics Systems Service Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join their team in Seal Beach, CA
.
As an Avionics Systems Service Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to assist airline customers in resolving real‑time technical problems and issues for Boeing Commercial Airplanes operators. You will provide support in troubleshooting, fleet guidance, and resolution of AOG situations using the latest Boeing tools and data analytics.
Position Responsibilities- Provide technical, design, and informational support for basic production, product support or in‑service issues.
- Troubleshoot basic system problems consistent with operational protocols.
- Support and create basic technical documentation (Fleet Team Digest articles, Service Letters, Drawings, Specifications, data sets, design folders, test requirements documents, manuals) in accordance with engineering processes for internal reference and external delivery.
- Review technical design, analysis, and production through documentation review, design reviews participation, and test observations to ensure compliance.
- Assist investigations to provide engineering design disposition of discrepancies.
- Support and/or lead research of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
- Assist in designing and providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service.
- Work with and direct cross‑functional teams to conduct root‑cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non‑conformance.
- Assist in development of customer correspondence for safe equipment operation.
- Assess complex system event reports for potential safety issues.
- Travel to airlines to lead technical/executive review meetings and address complex technical issues.
- Travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally (willing and able).
- Work second shift for a 24/7/365 operation, including Saturdays and Sundays.
High School/GED
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
- Experience in an engineering discipline.
- Able and willing to work flexible hours, including on‑call support as needed (weekends and holidays).
- Willing and able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
- Level 3: 3+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1+ year of project management experience.
- Experience in Network, E‑Enabling, Maintenance Systems (NEMS), and Communications and Navigation (e.g., VHF/HF, SATCOM, LRRA, ISS, INR, TCAS, GPS).
- Ability to collaborate with multiple team functions.
- Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience.
- Desire to continuously improve airplanes.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Seal Beach, CA.
